The philosophy behind Bholu is about creating products that we love and live, while benefiting people we work with along the way. By using their traditional skills, the women artisans gain an income, hence independence and opportunity and from the workshops.  The children have time to be children.

Part proceeds go back to the women and their communities, along with funding education facilities and other programs for underprivileged children.

Bholu designs are simple, textural and bold and are designed for contempory interiors and modern day living. Bholu products include cushions, throws, bags and jornals, all made from felt with silk hand embroidery stitching.

The Bholu Rug collection is a natural extension of the Bholu textiles and homewares products and philosophy.  Bholu rugs are handcrafted by traditional Indian artisans and are made with 100% New Zealand felted wool.

The designs are an enlarged version of Bholu textiles and are beautifully textural and rich in colour and high in quality. The white line of the design is looped and raised to mimic the embroidered thread on the cushions. The background is cut 100% New Zealand felted wool yarn, which is sculpted by hand to imitate the felt background of the homewares textiles.

The natural simplicity and naivety of the Bholu designs lend themselves perfectly to a canvas such as a rug and look just as amazing when hung on a wall as art.
