TOKENS OF LIVING is the creation of Hélène Manger-Hofhuis and Hans Manger.

Hélène Manger-Hofhuis has a Masters in the History of Art, specialising in 17 th century Dutch and Flemish paintings, as well as years of experience in 16 th to 19 th century European furniture, particularly Spanish and French design. Her inspiration comes from her parents' antique furniture farm, Meerwijk Antiek, in the Netherlands, which has been established for more than 35 years. Hélène is also a regular participant in and contributor to the internationally acclaimed annual European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF), in Maastricht. Hélène was born in the Netherlands, and has also lived in France, South Africa and America.

Hans Manger is an experienced Naval Architect and an interior designer of residential living areas. He also designs contemporary furniture for the Witte de Wit gallery in the Netherlands and has worked as a cabinet maker. Since meeting Hélène he has been trained in the family business of antique furniture restoration. He has a Bachelor of Science in shipbuilding, specializing in the design and project management of larger sailing and motor yachts, and is passionate about design and the creative use of space. Hans was born in the Netherlands and has also lived in South Africa.

The pair have two young daughters.
